A small team that only builds on Shopify.
No strategy decks, no account managers, no discipline we're pretending to be good at. We write Shopify code — that's the whole business.
Nine years on one platform
We've built through three eras of Shopify. Each one changed what was possible, and each one is why we work the way we do.
2017
Became a Shopify Partner
Two engineers, taking on builds other agencies had started and abandoned.
2019
Development only
Dropped everything that wasn't engineering — no brand workshops, no media buying, no account layer.
2021
Online Store 2.0
Rebuilt the theme practice around sections everywhere, app blocks and metafield-driven content.
2022
Headless, honestly
First Hydrogen storefronts — and a habit of telling clients when headless isn't worth it.
2024
Checkout extensibility
Moved clients off checkout.liquid onto UI extensions and Functions ahead of the deadline.
2025
Our own apps
Shop Finder and Code Migrator shipped to the App Store, so we live with the constraints we design around.
A distributed community of seasoned engineers
We have never had an office, and we have never wanted one. Mindhive was remote-first from the first commit, which means we hire for the engineer rather than the commute — and the people who build your store are the ones best suited to it, not the ones who happened to live near a desk.
Our engineers work from across Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific. Overlapping hours are arranged around the work, so a question asked at the end of your day usually has an answer waiting at the start of the next one.
Everyone here is senior. We do not staff juniors on client work and we do not learn the platform on your budget — this is a community of people who have spent years inside Shopify and have the scar tissue to show for it.
- Senior engineers only — no juniors billed as seniors
- Deliberate timezone overlap with your team, agreed up front
- Written-first communication, so decisions are searchable later
Shopify Partners since 2017
We're a Shopify Partner with apps published to the Shopify App Store. That means our code has been through Shopify's review process, and we work against the same roadmaps their platform teams publish.
